7 Healthy And Proven Strategy To Balance Motherhood And Career.
Being a Mom is definately the most fulfillng journey life has to offer but it can be stressful, keeping a little human alive and well is tough couple with working into the mix, and you may find your self feeling worked out, when there are so many things vaying for your time and attention throughout the day, it is easy to feel as though you are not excelling in any of your roles at home or in the workplace.
while balancing motherhood and your career may feel unattainable, here are some strategies I use to maintain my sanity and my purpose as a full -time working mom.
(1) Embrace The Coziness.
personally, I love having slow starts with my kids on weekends. The morning
snuggles are my favorite as they are extra affectionate at that time through out the
day, we play with toys, read books ,and go on a walk when the weather allows
we get out of the house at least once each day to do something as a family,
sometimes that is just going to the store but other times ,we attend a child friendly
event or plan something with another family. Regardless of what your weekends
looks like ,the important thing is that you are spending time together.
(2) Priortize Task.
Being a working mom is a juggling act, but with a little planning and prioritization
you can find the right balance for your family. Start by making a list of your daily
task and then break them into categories like work ,family and self care, then rank
each task in order of priority, making sure to include both urgent and important tasks.
Once you have your list, schedule time for each task on your calender. And remember
to be flexible life is unpredictable and your schedule may need to change on a daily
basis, just do your best to stay organized and make time for the things that matters
most.
(3) Work Efficiently.
To work efficiently as a working mom ,it is important to make the most of your time.
One way to do this is to batch similar tasks together ,for example ,if you need to make
phone calls, try to do them all at once instead of spreading them out through out the day
This will help you foccuse and make the most of your time.
(4) Be Fully present
Being Present in both your work and family life is all about focusing on the present
moment ,when you are at work ,be fully foccuse on your work and give it your best.
When you are with your family put your phone away and give them your full attention.
It is also important to be clear about your priorities, make sure your work and family
know what is most important to you and be honest about how much time you can
commit to each.
(5) Out Source Chores.
If you are a working mom ,it is very important to outsource your chores whenever
possible ,start by making a list of all the chores you need to do each week, then figure
out which ones can be outsourced. This could be anything from house cleaning to
grocery shopping. once you have identified the tasks that can be out sourced, create
schedule for when they will be done. This will help you feel more organized and less
stressed. Finally consider using a service like TaskRabbit to find some one to help out.
(6) Make The Most Of Your Commute.
When you are a working mom, your commute can be a valuable opportunity to connect
with your family. If you are driving consider playing music or audio books that every
one in the car will enjoy. If you are taking public transportation use the time to call your
kids or spouse. If you are walking or biking try to do so with a family member, and use
the time to chat. By making your commute family-friendly you will create lasting
memories and strengthen your relationship.
(7) Reevaluate Other Commitments.
As a working mom it is important to regularly reevaluate your commitments to ensure they
align with your family needs. Start by creating a list of all your current commitments,
including work, family, social and personal. Then for each commitment ask your self if it is
still a priority and if it is something you truly enjoy, if not consider a ways to scale back or
eliminate the commitment. This will free up time for the things that matter most to you and
your family. Remember it is ok to say no to things that does not bring you joy or add values
to your life.
A Final Encouragement. .
We want to be the best mamas we can be to our children, yet our time, thoughts and energy are divided between our responsibilities at home and those at work.
When I was growing up, my mom worked full-time outside of the home, and never once did I feel unloved or like I was missing out on anything . keeping that in mind helps me feel at peace with my decision to do the same.
Remember that by doing what you are doing, you are setting a great example for your children, not only are you providing financially for your family, but you are also demonstrating what it looks like to use your professional gifts and passions from one working mama to another , I hope these tips helps you feel confident in this challenging yet fulfilling journey.
